ALLIANCE BETWEEN JAPAN AND KOREA

The 11th ALL KOREAN JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP was held on September 6th, 2009.
This year's championship had a record in number of competitors with the participation of all Jiu-Jitsu academies from South Korea.

It was invited from Brazil, Leonardo Vieira, and from Japan, Takamasa Watanabe, General Director of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Japan, and Joao Paulo Kuraoka.

The event marked a new beginning for the Korean Jiu-Jitsu Confederation (KJJC), with a new direction and administraion.

"The KJJC will work together with JJFJ (Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Japan), promoting events together and the exchange of athletes and instructors", says Lee Hee Sung, director of the KJJC.

"The union between Japan and Korea and China is essential for the growth of Jiu-Jitsu in Asia", says Takamasa Watanabe. "Soon, we will be announcing to our members, our plans in Asia for next year".

We are counting on the participation of many athletes representing Korea on the Asian Trials held in Tokyo on March 2009.
